Mixed Media Box Featuring Color Splash

Hello arty-crafty friends.

I hope you all are safe and doing well. The ongoing 30 days Craft Challenge with anything goes with Little Birdie Color Splash is so much fun because these lovely colors can be sprayed on anything to add an interesting look.

They are available in 12 exciting colors. I have designed a mixed media box using some of my favourite craft supplies from the store, along with Little Birdie Color Splash. I have a step wise picture tutorial for you all.  I selected a MDF box measuring 5*5*3 inches from my stash. I unscrewed the locks and hinges and then primed the whole box with 2 coats of  Little Birdie Acrylic White Gesso. To create a background, I decided to paste pieces of paper. I had a decoupage paper design with script in my stash. I hand-tore the paper and pasted the pieces randomly with the help of Little Birdie Deco Magic Glue.

When everything was dry, I dry brushed it with white gesso. Then I applied a coat of Little Birdie Clear Gesso which prepares the base for any medium or colours which you want to use.

I wanted to create some texture. For that I did random stenciling using Little Birdie Mixed Media Paste. I applied it through Little Birdie Honeycomb and Script Stencils with the help of palette knife.

It’s not turn to add some more interest. I had a resin frame embellishment in my stash. I pasted the resin frame using gel medium.  I had mulberry leaves in my stash.  Around the frame I have pasted the mulberry leaves and white flowers and pollen using gel medium and left it to dry.

Gel  medium  takes  some  time  to  dry.  Before pasting the mulberry leaves, I sprayed  Little  Birdie  Color  Splash –  Lime  Splash  on them.   On the flowers  and the  rest  of  the  box,  I sprayed  Lemon  Zing  and  Hot  Pink  Color  Splash.  Spray  some  water  to  dilute  the  Color  Splash,  as it  makes  it  easy  to  flow  and  blend  with  each  other.  I used a  heat  gun  to  dry  the Color  Splash inks.

Using Glossy Accents I pasted Little Birdie Metal Microbeads – Iced Slate.

A bright and colorful box is ready to gift.  I am sharing some more pictures of my project…..

I hope you liked my project and it would inspire you to create something beautiful using Little Birdie Color Splash.
