Baggage Labels For a Fun and Memorable Holiday!

Craft can be applied to so many aspects of our daily lives. It isn’t just for cards or scrapbooks. It can apply to the most mundane of accessories – luggage tags. I first saw this on Snehal’s blog. She had made luggage tags for a friend and I thought – OMG what a clever idea. Now many months later as my family was planning a holiday, I thought – I’m going to make me some Crafty Luggage Tags. For any project practicality has to find a place in the conception. So I decided that my luggage tags had Read more…

A day at the farm – Guest Post

The kit this month contained  corrugated sheets in various colours. Instantly I wanted to try a craft that explored textures. I love the 3 Effect that corrugated sheets offer. First I took the Blue A4 sized Corrugated sheet as the background and support for our craft. To add layers, I cut hill shapes from green felt sheets . Using glue gun, stuck them in place. The third layer was the light green hill in the bottom of the picture. While using Corrugated sheets I like to contrast the grooves. It Read more…

Chocolate Rakhis for a Special Brother

In my opinion Raksha Bandhan is one of the sweetest festivals around. Celebrating the bond between brother and sister is a wonderful thing and even though it is not my festival, I always make it a point to tie a Rakhi for my brother and brother-in-law, and I encourage my son to tie one for my daughter. This year however I thought I would do it a little differently. Since the floss that forms the rakhi is usually discarded in a couple of days, I figured I could make it a sentimental as well as satisfying Read more…

Vintage Tags

I was in a very vintage mood the other day and wanted to embrace all things vintage. Maybe it was because I had recently picked up the DCWV Heirloom Stack or perhaps it was because of the Chipboard Lasercuts I saw at the Itsy Bitsy store or maybe it was the Spellbinders borderabilities dies I added to my stash – whatever the reason, I was itching to go Vintage and since I’ve never made tags before, I thought I would give it a try. The fact is that Itsy Bitsy really has a fabulous stock of vintage Read more…

Birthday Party Invites for a Music and Cow Loving Toddler

My daughter turns two next month and being the crafter that I am, I just had to make the birthday party invitations. I had just one unwritten rule in my head. The party should make sense to Kyra. She is just a toddler and I didn’t want to do something over the top that she wouldn’t understand. So I thought about what she likes. Kyra loves music – she loves to sing and dance. She also for some strange reason loves cows. Anywhere she goes she looks for cows and if she catches a glimpse of one, she Read more…

Saying Thank You with Cupcakes

A few weeks ago I was in a real flap. I was due to travel overseas and suddenly found out that my papers weren’t in order. I suddenly needed to get a whole bunch of new documents in a very short time. Two very sweet uncles of mine really came through for me and helped me sort out all these issues. I really wanted to give them something special to say thanks and since I’m a crafter and baker, the obvious gift was Cupcakes in a Gift BoxFor the first box, my colour scheme of choice was red, black and Read more…

Its Friendship Day!!!

Today is Friendship Day and I wanted to make something to mark the occasion.  Back in school and college, Friendship Day was all about making Friendship Bands for our BFFs but now as an adult, I can’t help feeling a little silly to give my adult friends these sentimental strips of floss. In an effort to modernise the tradition, I decided to make cards for my friends with a twist! The twist? Incorporating friendship bands somewhere in the card. And here’s what I made. For my first card, I wanted to Read more…
