Deco Transfer Coffee Mug

Hello Creatives!

DT member Divya here to share another super interesting DIY. Little Birdie Deco Transfer sheets are simply amazing and are the quickest way to enhance the look of any surface. They can be used on almost everything for example wood, plastic, glass, leather, metal, painted surface, MDF, paper, fabric, ceramic, etc. They literally transform any thing into a beautiful piece of art. So I tried it  on a plain white fiber ceramic mug, varnished it and made it useable .

This is a very simple project with limited materials which anyone can try . So lets get started.

This is how my Mug looks after doing Deco Transfer on it.

SETP 1- Take any plain mug , it can be of any material ceramic/ fiber / plastic etc. Select any design Deco Transfer sheet. Clean the mug  and dry it completely. Now select the design from the sheet as per your mug size.

STEP 2- Fussy cut the design selected . I have not left any white space and cut the design edge to edge. Now peel the transparent film and place the design on the mug.

STEP 3- Take a sponge and soak it in water. Squeeze extra water then gently dab it on the design. Dab it till you can see the design slightly. Then wait for 1 minute. With gentle hands start removing the paper from one side. Do this process very slowly. The transferred design be revealed as you remove the paper.

STEP 4- To extend the design further, I have taken another element from the sheet and cut it according to my requirement and have and transferred it. This step is optional and vary from design to design.

STEP 5- In this step I have taken a stencil and attached it to the Mug with the help of a tape. Then I have used black distress ink and dabbed it with the dabber. Make sure it doesn’t go on the transfer sheet. Instead of distress ink pad you can also use chalk paints or any pigment inks. After the stenciling work it looks amazing.

STEP 6- Then lastly I have used a varnish spray on the mug . I have given 4 layers  of spray leaving enough time between each layer for them to dry. Now I am able to use it regularly and nothing happened to it. Hope you like my project and you will definitely try this out. Thank you.
