DIY Santa Candle

Hi everyone,

This is Priyanka Shashi back to the blog. Since it’s December, it’s officially time to start Christmas preparations. So, start your Christmas décor with this simple yet attractive Santa candle. You can make this Santa candle in few easy steps. Follow the pictorial to make this candle along with me.

Things You will Need:

  1. Red Wax Granules
  2. Wick
  3. Stearin
  4. Ultra Brightener
  5. Glass Candle Mold
  6. Fragrance of your choice
  7. Golden Cardstock
  8. Black Cardstock
  9. Black Buttons
  10. Tacky Tape

Tools You will Need:

  1. Double Boiler
  2. Pouring Pitcher
  3. Scissors
  4. Wooden Skewers
  5. Hot Air gun/ Hair Dryer

Step 1: Melting Wax

Melt the wax granules in a double boiler. Add stearin in the ratio of 1:10. Stearin increases the melting point of paraffin wax and increases burning time. It also helps candles burn with steady and unwavering flame. Add 1-2 pinches of ultra brightener to  brighten candle colour and improve it’s appearance.

Step 2: Assembling the Wick

While the wax is melting, set the wick with the help of some adhesive at the bottom of the mould and press it using a bamboo skewer.

Step 2: Preparing the Mold

Once the wax melts, remove it from double boiler. Pre heat the glass mold with the help of hot air gun/ hair dryer to prevent jump lines in the candle.

Step 3: Pouring the Wax

Now quickly add your favourite fragrance in melted wax and pour it in warm glass mould slowly.

Set the wick in the center from the top with the help of wooden peg and leave it untouched to solidify at least for one hour.

Step 4: Embellishing the Candle

When the candle has cooled down completely, trim the excess wick. Now, it’s time to give the candle a Santa Claus look. Cut a strip of black cardstock approximately 1 inch broad. Cut the golden cardstock in the shape of a buckle of the belt. Insert black paper belt into the golden buckle.

Now place the paper belt approximately in the middle of the glass candle with the help of tacky tape.

Now add black buttons and the super cute Santa candle is ready! Have a look at the finished project.
