I am Anamika here with my first blog post for Itsy Bitsy.
I was wondering what would be apt for transforming into a home decor piece. I immediately got the answer …..what could be better than using a canvas frame?
And I could also experiment with Itsy Bitsy’s awesome range of mixed media pastes. So let’s start….
First – I took a 16 by 12 white canvas frame
Next, I created different textures with 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste, Stone Texture Paste, and Crackle Medium. *Note I wanted to give it a look of a wall.
In the next step, I cut few chipboard to create a frame like border. I covered it with Little Birdie Mixed Media Paste and Crackle Paste.
Once dry, I covered the entire thing with Little Birdie white gesso
I then started playing around with Little Birdie’s Colour Splashes. I used Colour Splash Charcoal, Mocha, Lemon Zing, Purple Haze, Lime Splash. I also used acrylic paint teal, aqua blue, scarlet, golden lemon.
I highlight some random parts with Little Birdie Metallic wax – Antique Gold and Copper Blaze.
Next, I took a door chipboard, applied Crackle Paste. Once dry, I colored it using chalk paint Fortune Cookie and highlighted with metallic wax Glimmer Moss and Antique Gold.
Then I took some gear chipboards, painted them with black gesso and highlighted with metallic wax Antique Gold. I arranged them and attached them with heavy gel medium.
I also useed the gel medium to attach some metallic beads.
In the end, I attached the quote” If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door”.
That ends my project for today. Hope you all enjoyed the tutorial and will surely try to make this home decor canvas which can adorn your wall or your table top. It will always remind you to work towards success…
