Winter Gel Candle

Hi Crafters,

I am back to the blog with a new inspirational post. Bengaluru was shivering this week due to the continuous rain. And it was almost the feeling of winters which derived me to make this super easy gel candle. It is just perfect to welcome the Christmas season with the warmth of this winter gel candle. And it needs minimal materials so without any delay lets start the process.

Material Required:

  1. Gel Wax
  2. Wick
  3. Glass Candle Mold
  4. White Sand
  5. Pine Cones
  6. Pearls

Step 1: Melt the Wax

Melt the gel wax in a clean vassel directly on heat. As the gel wax melts on high temperature around 200°F, so double boiler will not be appropriate to melt gel wax. In double boiler it will take long time to melt the gel wax (I melted in double boiler only). To fasten the melting process you can melt it direct on heat, but dont leave it unattended. And keep stirring the wax.

Step 2: Prepare the Mould

Clean the mould with dry cloth nicely.

Step 3: Assemble the Wick

Assemble the wick in the center at the bottom of the mould with the help of glue gun.

Step 4: Add Decors

Pour the white sand in the mould to form a base for objects which will give the look of snow.

Now add the pine cones and pearls in the sand.

Step 5: Pour the Wax

I am making a clear gel candle. Once the gel wax is melted pour it slowly and gently in the mould to prevent bubbles.

Set the wick in the center from the top with the help of wooden pegs.

Blow hair dryer on the top to remove any visible bubbles on top.

Step 6: Trim the Wick

Trim the wick upto 1/4 inch.

Tadaa! The super easy winter candle is ready. Have a look on some pictures of it. It was my first try of gel candle. It has many bubbles in it, but I am completely loving the over all look as the bubbles are looking like snow fall. So if you are also trying your hand first time on gel candle, this one is the perfect one to try.

Hope you like this winter gel candle and you will try one for yourself.
