Hello Itsy Bitsy fans, Priya with you today to share a mixed media wall frame. It’s also an inspiration for this month’s Blog Challenge. This month’s Itsy Bitsy Blog Challenge#28 is simple, “Anything goes using Little Birdie Handmade Flowers”. Moreover, who doesn’t love the handmade flowers by Itsy Bitsy’s home brand Little Birdie? They are the best handmade flowers to use on any craft project. I totally love them and all my projects are incomplete without these gorgeous flowers. Here’s what I created, a mixed media frame to hang on the wall
For today’s project, I used a reverse shadow box as my base. I use the cover paper from Little Birdie’s Birds & Berries paper pack. If you need a tutorial on that, do let me know in the comment section. I used Mio Amore Flowers here on my project. Hope you like it. Now let’s check out the step by step tutorial .
Step 1: First I applied a layer of 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste on my reverse shadow box and dried it with a heat gun. For this I diluted the 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste.
Step 2: Applied the same 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste as a texture paste this time through a stencil and created a beautiful textured background.
Step 3: Stamped on the background with Archival ink and Little Birdie stamps randomly. I used Black Archival ink as it is a permanent ink and doesn’t react to water.
Step 4: Then using Little Birdie Colour Splash in Hot Pink shade, I coloured the background.
Step 5: I cut some wire mesh and adhered on the background using silicone glue.
Step 6: Now adhered the picture that I wanted as my focal element on the canvas. Next, I coloured the background again with Mocha shade of Colour Splash.
Step 7: Thereafter, I decorated the canvas with some Amore Mio flowers. As they are white flowers, they complemented the brown background well.
Step 8: To give a little glitter effect, I used some Fairy Dust, metal microbeads, and shaker sprinkles to get a beautifully finished look.
