This Too Shall Pass- A Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone,

This is Mukta here! Today I have a mixed media canvas tutorial for you all using Little Birdie’s newly launched Chalk Paints. The 10 happy and fun shades in the new range are really cool!! These matte chalk paints are fast drying, give good coverage and are perfect for any kind of surface……which makes them perfect for mixed media projects, home decor or even layouts.

Before, I start with today project, I would like to dedicate this canvas to my father who is right now going through some health issues. I made this canvas for him just to remind him that this time will soon pass and he will come out as a winner! Also I have used metal findings in this project which are all from my father’s hardware stash…he was very happy to share them with me.

Now back to the project, I had an old 9″ by 7″ writing pad with me and I have used that as my canvas for this project. The newly launched Black Gesso is the primer I chose and it works really well giving good coverage. It is not very thick, dries matte and takes colors well. I encourage you all to try it. I have used some very heavy metal hinges, screws, bolts and other things to build my canvas and to adhere them all, I chose Heavy Gel Medium, which is the best adhesive I have used so far. Its gives such strong bond. A must try for every mixed media artist. Its all about chalk paints this month at Itsy Bitsy’s Blog Challenge and so I have used 3 chalk paints from the new range to add color to my project. I loved the chalky matte effect they create. It’s really fun to use them as they also blend well.

Look at the images for QR codes. You can scan them using a QR code scanner to know more about and how to use these products. I have a video tutorial that I am sharing with you all. I encourage you all to watch it to know how I created my project. It took me 6 hours to make this one and I have tried my best to show you everything I did in this video. .I hope you all enjoy it.

Here is a list of supplies I used

Thank you for reading my post…have a fun week ahead.

Hugs
