Hello creative peeps,
Hope you are doing well. Sumedha here on the blog today to share a shabby chic photo holder with volume decoupage technique. I have used Little Birdie Filament Decoupage Papers for this project. These papers have a feel of rice paper and are easy to adhere without bubbles or wrinkles.
Let’s begin todays project.
I took this beautiful ‘Dream Catcher Grandeur’ filament decoupage paper and fussy cut two images from the paper.
I took one of the fussy cut images and pasted it on Sospeso transparent sheet from my stash with the help of Little Birdie decoupage glue – matt. I then fussy cut the sospeso sheet with the motif.
I then shaped my Sospeso dream catcher to give it a 3D effect with the help of ball tools from my stash.
I had a plastic hanger in my closet which I thought of using as my base for this project. I gave two coats of white Gesso to the entire hanger, in some places leaving it a little distressed.
I used a cotton cord from the store to randomly wrap the cord on the hanger to form a web.
Next comes the decoration part. I added coconut fiber and cheesecloth to form a base. Next I attached my 3D Dream catcher along with the another fussy cut image with a help of foam dots to form a layer. I have also used lot of Little Birdie Bird and Berries ephemera and sentiment along with the beautiful Little Birdie Renae – Pearl Pink flowers and primed chipboard cogs.
I added some wooden pegs at the bottom of the hanger and secured them with silicon glue and dry brushed Little Birdie home decor chalk-paint – Snow on them to go with the color of my hanger . I added some Rangers glossy accent to the dream catcher to give it a shiny effect, in the picture below it shows little milky as it was still wet.
I have randomly stamped some script with Rangers black archival ink on the hanger and the wooden pegs.
