Rustic Wooden Caddy

Hi friends , DT member Nandhini Vasandan with an exciting rustic wooden caddy for all the art lovers to organize their desks.

Keeping one’s desk organized is every crafters endeavor and can be a real time saver when you to sort or need them.  Well, not anymore. This rustic wooden organizer will help you keep all your favourite craft supplies in one place.

This wooden caddy is a must-have in every work space and is also a  perfect gift.

Let us now take a look at how I went about to create this caddy.

I took a pine wood base and applied Little Birdie wood stain ‘Honey Maple and Warm Walnut’.

Apply using gloves and use a suitable cloth. Remember to use mask during this process since the stain have a strong odour. The wood stains beautifully highlight the natural grains of the pine wood.

 

To add some more  interest, I created patterns with a mandala stencil and mixed media paste.

Then, I applied metallic wax ‘Rich Gold’, over the edges.

 Finally, sealed the project using decor varnish gloss. Now, the rustic caddy for stowage of paints and other art supplies is ready.
