Pretty Rose – Sculpture Painting

Hello art lovers, Shweta Singh, Itsy Bitsy BA on the blog. A very warm welcome to all of you! Today I am here with a sculpture painting done with Little Birdie sculpture paste. They are so easy to handle and are surely one of the finest pastes.

First Step

I took a paper mache square box from the store, primed it with Little Birdie white gesso.

Second Step

Now I took a stencil and created a pattern with the help of mixed media paste and a palette knife. After it was dry, I sprayed Little Birdie colour Splash, watered it down, and spread it with the help of a brush.

Step -3

I started making a rose with the help of a palette knife. I spread the paste on a piece of glass and picked it up gradually with the knife. In this way I made all the petals and placed them on the desired position to make a rose and several buds. In the same way I made leaves too .

I sprayed more water on the box so that the excess colour dripped off .

Step -4

Now I placed the rose buds and leaves onto their right places. I took some Rich Gold metallic wax and spread it with my finger tip. The look was not complete till I added some mini craft pallets to my sculpture painting.

Step -5

I coloured the edges with Little Birdie – Wild Wasabi chalk paint. Now my box is ready. This festive season you can gift it as a rakhi box .
