Mixed Media Kettle and A Wall Decor with Tinted Metallic Paints

Hi friends,
I am Ruchi, guest DT today at Itsy Bitsy’s blog with two very exciting projects to share with you.
Recently I got some Little Birdie Tinted Metallic Paints from Itsy Bitsy. Thanks a bunch dear Rashmi Harish and Anitha for sending them over. Hence, here I am with a post for Itsy Bitsy using these tinted metallic paints. In order to showcase the colors and the metallic sheen of these colors I have chosen two very different projects. Both the projects have multiple materials like clay, MDF, metal, fabric, paper embellishments, which will give you an idea as to how these colors look on them.
Tinted metallic paints are made to give a rich shine to your project and go on almost all surfaces. If you attempt some dry brushing, you can achieve great results in all your mixed media projects.
My first project is a mixed media altered kettle, where I have colored it with tinted metallic paints. The second project is a decoupage project on fabric with metallic colors used with stencil.

The first thing that I did was to create a shade card for myself, of all the metallics I had in my stash (which are quite a few, as I am very fond of using them in my regular projects). I have used black kraft and white cardstock to give you an idea .
Also, I have chosen two contrasting background colors for my projects to make the comparison clearer. The kettle has a black background and the fabric piece is light in colour.
Project : Kettle
I am using a regular metal kettle to alter. The textures are created with corrugated sheet (paper) and cotton twine. The composition contains, left over chipboard pieces, clay embellishments, MDF, clock dial and I have used Little Birdie Embossing paste  to add more texture. The pictures are self
explanatory.

I have pasted all the embellishments with silicone glue and then painted the whole kettle with black gesso. For the coloring, I have chosen Blue Waltz, Caribbean Teal and Silver Oak.
After coloring I decided to add some flowers!!! Little Birdie makes the most awesome flowers and I stocked up quite a bit when I was in Bangalore for the Creativity Carnival in December 2018.
The finished project looks like this. The metallic paints shine and give a very rich look to the whole composition.

I am extremely happy with the outcome and hope I have inspired you to give it a try.
Project:Wall decor Piece.
As I had explored most of the materials in my above project, so I thought of using fabric also and see the effects of the metallics on it. For the same, I thought of converting an old place mat  into a wall piece. For that, I have done decoupage with tissue/napkin on the place mat. For sealing the tissue, I used decor varnish, gloss so that it does not get damaged by subsequent use of paints.

Stencils used are also from Itsy Bitsy.
Colors used in this project are Blue Waltz, Caribbean Teal, Silver Oak and Golden Glaze. I have also used flowers, embellishments, burlap all from the store. Hope you like the project. The product is excellent and I recommend to  give it a try.
