Mixed Media Decor – Let Your Dreams Take Flight

Hi Creative folks,

Today I am on the blog to share a new mixed media project with Itsybitsy products.

I started with a plain mdf base for my project and rest of the supplies were sent by itsybitsy team in a beautiful package.

Supplies
I took the mdf plank and grainy texture paste and used the stencil Stone wall for my background.  I applied the stencil randomly in places/
Once the paste was dry I covered the entire mdf with chalkpaint snow as shown in the picture below

Once the chalkpaint dried, I sprayed Color Spalsh Gold rush around the stenciled part. I watered down the spray  to ensure it reached all nooks and cranies on the mdf. for the portion that was not covered with Color spalsh I used archival multisurface paint Pink Swirl and watered it down to.

I took some chipboard  gears and covered it with emobossing texture paste Aquatini. To soften the blue I used chalkpaint Sand stone and dry brushed it on my embossed gears.

I moved to my next embellishment , which was a chipboard bulb. I covered the buld portion with Rangers distress crayon spun sugar and the coil piece with Mustad seeds distress crayon again from rangers. for the holder part i used embossing pen and run over the holder part on all three pieces and added gold embossing powder from itsybitsy and then heat ebossed it. I used clear embossing part for the rest of my bulb to retain the pink and yellow colors beneath and followed the same process as holder.

I took the Butterfly kisses stamps from IB and used black archival ink to stamp my background in places for added interest. I have only stamped half of the butterfly. On the stenciled part i rubbed antique gold mettalic wax with my finger to highlight raised surface

I took 2 dies of my set of nesting circles thin cut dies and run it through my dreamcut machine to create a frame around a picture that I was going to use as my focal point.

I assembled all the embellishments and created a beautiful layout. Finally I used flower from itsybitsy around my focal point and added some wired pollens from my stash. I then added micro beads in red and white in and around the edges . I dry brushed my flowers with white gesso to soften the pink of the flowers. I added a sentiment from the same stamp (Butterfly kisses)set for my project

I hope you like my project and will give it a try. You can buy all the stuff from itsybitsy and use code Sumedha5 for a 5% discount.
Ciao
