Mixed Media Bottle priyanka

Hello creative people, Priyanka Mathur here to inspire you all with a mixed media project.
I have used lots of Little Birdie supplies from Itsy Bitsy and they all have variety of uses in different kind of projects.

Today I have altered a glass bottle, hope you will get inspired with the techniques and make one for yourself.

Here is the step by step tutorial for the same, let’s get started…

I started by applying white gesso all over the bottle with a sponge dauber.
Once the entire bottle was covered including the bottle cap, I sprinkled texture sand randomly and dabbed the sand using the same sponge. Let it dry naturally and then give a coat of heavy gel medium all over. This medium will keep the sand intact and will avoid any cracks, also the thick medium adds texture to the surface.

When the medium gets dried cover the entire bottle using chalk paint in the colour shade blue spa.

Next I used metallic wax patina glaze and applied it gently over the textured area using my finger so as to uplift the background granular surface.

Then gave the bottle few strokes of tinted metallic paints in the shades twillight blue and lime crush.

I have taken two chipboards in the same design cog wings and glued them together using silicon glue. Another chipboard that I used here is vintage cogs. Covered both the chipboards with chalk paint blue spa.

Next interesting texture was created using Embossing paste in the shade avocado smoothie. I applied the paste using pallete knife and blow dried it using heat gun. Then applied tawny glint metallic paint and sprinkled gold sparkle over the chipboards using heavy gel medium.

Once the chipboards got dried I rubbed metallic paste patina glaze randomly using fingers.

At one side I adhered the chipboard and to the other side I added some dimension using stone texture paste chocolate fudge. It can be applied using brush to add small brick design or using brick stencil from Little Birdie to add bigger design to the project.

Next added another chipboard on the bottle cap using silicon glue. Once it will get dry chipboard will remain intact on bottle cap.

And this mixed media decor piece is ready! Hope you enjoyed it and will try these techniques.

Happy Crafting
