Fun and Easy Distressed Watercolor Welcome and Photo Board

DT Charu here! I’m back with another project with watercolor embellishments.

Hope you all are enjoying wonderful projects by our talented DT members and I also expect by now you all are preparing for the ongoing Blog Challenge as well!

Today I am here with a wooden ‘Welcome’ decor in faux wood style.

I painted the Welcome 3D embellishment with red and orange colors.

For the base I am using an old MDF rectangular board from my stash.

You can see it already has some texture because I am reusing the MDF board to make this project and I have used texture paste with stencil previously on it.

In the next step, I covered it with white Gesso. I am also planning to attach a small board with this welcome decor.

I decided to decoupage the small wooden plank with my old painting.

I stamped the plank in metallic color and drew some lines to give it a faux wood effect with black and orange to match the embellishment. I also distressed the edges of the plank and the embellishments with Tim Holtz distress ink.

In the next step I attached the other decoupage plank to the main plank and to added some coconut fibre to it. I also made a small nest to go along with it !

For the last step I added some lines to the smaller plank to give it a distressed look and attached it with some strings and beads.

And there you Go ! My welcome decor is ready to welcome my family friends and guest!

I would like to share one more quick project with watercolor embellishments on canvas this time.

I am using ‘Family’ embellishment with some stamps and archival ink to go along with it!

I painted the embellishment with the colours I desired and stamped it with Little Birdie floral stamps with archival ink set.

Then I sprayed an eight by eight inch canvas with Alcohol Splash in chosen colours and tilted the canvas so that the Alcohol Splash starts dripping like this.
