Floral Fantasy Girl with Watercolour Embellishments

Hello creative folks,

This is Seema again!

I am always excited to make different creative projects every month.

I am back with another colourful creation in which Little Birdie’s watercolour embellishments are the star performers!!

I am in love with these watercolour embellishments. All you need to do is, colour them according to your project or use them as it is…these are just wonderful.

To see the list of products I have used are  mentioned at the end of this project.

The first step begins with pasting of 220GSM textured watercolour paper on 12 in X 12 in canvas board. I chose to draw a beautiful face of a lady on it.

Watercolour medium is my all time favourite, therefore I thought to combine my watercoloring with beautiful watercolour embellishments.

Have you ever tried Monte Marte watercolours?

I am in love with this ‘Two Seasons’ watercolour palette. It gives you an amazing blend of Spring and Autumn. Ahh! those soothing colours!

How can I forget to talk about the unique features of watercolour brush pen?? Easy to use, these pens are just amazing to work with.

Once the drawing was complete. I brushed water over the entire paper and let it dry half and then started colouring it with Little Birdie’s brush pen. When your paper is wet, even a small amount of colour is more than enough to get the desired effect.

I did dry brushing with chalk paint on some of the white areas.

In the next step I stenciled few butterflies with metallic paint.

Added some more colours on rest of the area using wet on wet technique.

Now the most amazing part begins – colouringthe watercolour embellishments.

I have used 3 different techniques to colour these flowers.

  1. Watercolour with brush pen
  2. In some flowers I used alcohol sprays
  3. Used distressing technique on some of the flowers

In the next step, I used one of Little Birdie’s beautiful stencil with texture paste.

Now it was time to decorate the ‘Floral Fantasy’ girl with flower embellishments. I also made some flowers, leaves and swirls directly on the paper with colour and brush.

Isn’t she looking beautiful?

Now it’s time to add some beautiful self adhesive  butterfly embellishments.

I have distressed the edges of the butterflies and coloured them with watercolour.

I also did some final touch-ups on the girl’s face, hair and eyes.

Don’t forget to add some glitters, sequences and pearls on the project.

And it’s all done!!

Hope you like this creation and get inspired to make your own. Do share your creations with us and play this month’s Blog Challenge.

Cheers!
