Decoupage Festive Table Decor

Hello everyone,

Sumedha here, hope you all are doing good.

Today I am here to share an amazing  table decor tutorial that will help you spruce up your living/dining area. It’s going to be a wonderful Christmas and New Year decor with some shine and shimmer. I have used  the multi surface paints in this project.

The table decor includes a glass jar upcycled into a storage container for sweets and an old mason jar into a festive planter to go with the theme and a coordinating coaster.

Lets begin! I had a cute octagonal glass jar in my cupboard since long and I wanted to upcycle it and flaunt it as a centerpiece décor.

I started by applying the Snow Dove Multi surface paint directly on the glass jar. I did this after cleaning the surface with alcohol to ensure there was no dust on the outer surface.  There is no need to apply any gesso here.

I didn’t want to cover the entire jar with paint as I wanted the inside contents of the jar to peep through. I added a washi tape at the rim to avoid going overboard with my paint. I covered the lid entirely with the Snow Dove paint.

Keeping the festivities in mind I wanted to add shimmer to my project. I added a layer of Golden Glaze metallic paint on the white base and with the help of a Lattice stencil. That created a shimmery background with White and gold.

I was very happy with the background. Next step was to decoupage. I had some beautiful floral cutouts in my stash which I decided to use for this project. I used Decoupage matt glue to adhere the cutouts to my jar.

I varnished the whole painted surface with Little Birdie Decor varnish- Matt. I also added a clay border with epoxy clay and painted the clay embellishment with Snow Dove color to merge with the background. I painted the knob of the lid with Golden Glaze metallic paint.

I have used  Metallic Wax-Antique Gold to highlight the nook & crannies of my clay embellishment.

I also decided to upcycle and old mason jar and a MDF coaster to go with the jar. I followed the same steps as done with the jar. Coated the MDF coaster with Snow Dove multi surface paint on both the sides.

Added a layer of Golden glaze metallic paint with a flat brush.

Created a background in gold and white with the help of stencil as shown

Decoupaged the floral cutouts on the mason jar and the coaster with decoupage glue matte and varnished them both with Little Birdie Decor Varnish.
