Hello everyone, Pooja here
Today I am sharing a mixed media layout inspired by the colourful mood of Spring!
I hope you will find it inspiring to make something for this month’s challenge
have a look…this is what I made!
Let’s take a look at the step by step process:
I took a navy blue cardstock and applied gesso on it.
2. Thereafter I applied Little Birdie Soft Matt Acrylic Gel.
3. Did some stamping with Versa ink using different stamps and used Wow embossing powder and heat embossed all the stamped designs.
4. Next, I did some stencil work with Grainy Texture Paste. This paste is so amazing and gives you the opportunity to create such beautiful textures.
5. Now it’s time to color the background. I used Color Splash for this. The shades I have used here are all linked below.
6. Next, I took a piece of cardboard and applied some amount of 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste and used the texture triangle tool to create the look of wood .
I just painted it with black gesso and colored it with acrylic wood shades.
7. I tore the paper from top and bottom using my hands (for a distressed, uneven look). I pasted some coordinated paper underneath this paper. Look at the image below and you can see what I mean!
8. Now it’s time to built up layers with different things like papers, cheesecloth (Sprayed with with Lime Splash), flowers, moss, blue net and coconut fiber.
9. I used Soft Matte Acrylic Gel Medium to paste some Rainbow Dust shades too.
At this point of time, I got some craft goodies from the Itsy Bitsy as a surprise! The parcel included Little Birdie Embossing Texture Pastes and Sparkle Pastes.
I was so excited, I couldn’t stop myself from trying them. So, I decided to use some Embossing Texture Paste on this project. I was so happy to see the results and it made made fall in love with this unique and versatile product.
I used my brush, dipped it in the Embossing Paste and made small dots wherever I felt like. Then I used my heat gun to embossed these dots and they gave my project such cute bubble stone like effect.
Have a look…
Here are some more closeup images.
I hope you liked it. I will be back with more inspirations soon…
