Here is another video tutorial from my side and it’s a mini-album. I have explained from scratch how to create a beautiful photo mini album and also a storage box with supplies from Itsy bitsy store.
Here is the Video:
Measurements to follow:
To create the box: Take two pattern papers of 12 by 12″. Score 3″ on all the 3 sides for both the papers. Cut 2 pieces of 3″ squares on one pattern paper, while creating a slit on the other paper. ( please refer to the video). Join all the folds using tacky tape or liquid glue.
To create a Lid: Take a pattern paper of 9 1/8 by 6 1/8 ” and score at 1 1/2 inches on all four sides. Fold and stick together the edges using tacky tape or liquid glue. ( please refer to video)
Here, the album size is 8 by 4 1/2 inches with a spine of 2 inches.
So, we require – 8 by 4 1/2″ – 2 Chipboard pieces and 8 by 2 ” – 1 chipboard pieces.
Take a white cardstock paper of size 12 by 18 ” and score 1 ” on two sides as shown in the video. This will help to fix the chipboards correctly in place. Using tacky tape, stick the chipboards to the cardstock. Use a guideline tool to align the base pieces. ( guideline tool is created using sticking two random pieces of chipboard pieces together, which helps to create a gap between two chipboard). Fold the edges of the cardstock into the chipboard.
To cover the inside base, take 2 sheets of 8 by 4 1/2 ” white cardstock for both sides and 1 sheet of 8 by 4″ white cardstock for the inner spine. Stick to the inner base of the album which will help to give more strength to the album.
Next, we will add the Hinges.
Take one sheet of 2 by 7 7/8 ” and score at 1/2 ” on both length-wise sides. Place it in the center part of the spine area. Add two smaller hinges of size 1 by 3 7/8 ” to create more pages.
Now, we will add the pages and decorate them accordingly using Celebrate Life paper pack from Itsy Bitsy.
Here are the final pictures of the album :
