A Baby Scrapbook with the Big B’s – Beads, Brads, Bows and BLING

A dear dear friend of mine is expecting her first baby in a few weeks and asked me to make something for the tiny tot. I suggested a baby scrapbook and she was immediately on board. I picked up an Itsy Bitsy spiral bound blank scrapbook. It contained 50 sheets of different colored A4 card stock and suited me just fine. I’m still working on the cover and the opening page but here’s a glimpse of the next few pages.  The best thing about a scrapbook is that it gives you the opportunity to try out Read more…

Vellum Cards with the Big B’s

A friend recently told me about vellum sheets and I have come to find that it is one of the most versatile and pretty materials to add to a card. For those learning about it for the first time, it’s a see through paper often seen in wedding invitations. ItsyBitsy carries A4 size vellum sheets and once I got them in hand, I got to work on 3 projects using this material. Plus, in line with our challenge this month I have incorporated the Big B’s – Brads, Bows, Beads and Bling in each card. The first Read more…

A Thank You Card with a Bow, Bead, Brad & loads of BLING

I returned yesterday and got crafting immediately – you know how addicted we crafters can get!So my first project this week is a Thank You card for my buddy Aliena. She was a total star throughout the planning and execution of Kyra’s party. Black and White and Pink – A Dramatic Card

It’s time for some drama peeps and nothing is more dramatic than the color combination of pink, black and white. So I put together a little card using these colors. It doesn’t slide, explode or stand up but I’m pretty kicked with the way it turned out. And with Teachers Day just around the corner, I thought it would be a perfect way for my little boy to show his appreciation for his nursery ‘Aunty’. If you’re an avid crafter like me, you probably spend a great deal of time scouring YouTube for craft Read more…

Sunflowers and Die Cutting

So my little girl Kyra is turning one next week and I’ve been busy crafting my head off for her birthday party. The theme is sunflowers and I’ve managed to incorporate the theme quite substantially in the entire event. The birthday invitations, decorations, thank-you cards and take away gifts are all embellished with sunflowers. And I couldn’t have done it without my Big Shot and some super dies.Sunflower  InvitationsThis was the invitation card. I kept it fairly simple considering I had to make Read more…

An Exploding Box Card

An exploding box is a great variant to a traditional card. From the outside it looks like a present or gift box but then when you open it, you’re in for a lovely surprise – photos, messages and other personalized notes. My mother-in-law’s birthday is this Friday and I thought this would be great way to wish her as well as share some timeless photos. At first glance, it looks just like a gift. The idea is that we give it to her as if it is her birthday present. Then when she opens it, she’ll be treated Read more…
