DIY Decoupage Tray

Hello crafters, Neha here and today’s blog is about creating a serving Tray.

For this project I used an MDF tray measuring 11x8x2 inch. I started by applying a very thin layer of gesso over the base of the tray.

After that I painted all the sides of the tray using Little Birdie chalk paint – Bubble gum further leaving it to dry.

Then I applied  a thick layer of one step crackle medium all over the painted sides and left it to dry.

Next, I applied another layer of chalk paint – Mango Crush over the same area where I had  applied crackle medium earlier, further leaving it to dry. As the paint starts to dry, the cracks start to appear.

I chose decoupage Little Birdie filament paper – Bloom Garden for the base. I had cut the paper according to the size of the base and pasted it over the base of the tray using Deco Magic glue. After drying, I applied another layer of Deco Magic glue over the print in order to seal it further and left it to dry.

Lastly I applied a layer of Little Birdie Decor Varnish– Matte all over the the base of the tray. Then I left it to dry for 10-15 minutes.

And done!
