Smile Please – Mixed Media Layout

Hi crafters, DT member Nandhini Vasandan here.

I am back with another scintillating and beautiful project, a mixed media layout for you all.

Here is the step by step process about how I used different mediums to create this wonderful art piece.

I have taken two sheets from Little Birdie ‘Birds and Berries’ 12″x12″ paper pack. Then, I  fussy cut few elements and overlaid the two sheets as desired.

Next, I applied clear gesso over the paper to prime it. For textures, I used a few stencils, mixed media paste and crackle paste.

I used Color Splash – Black Currant to colour the cheesecloth and used water colour crayons to add different colours to the surface. Then randomly stamped the paper with black archival ink. Then I arranged primed chipboard, handmade flowers, photo, craft pellets, metal micro beads – Gala Pink to complete the layout.

Finally I added the chipboard ‘Smile Please’ and now my beautiful layout is ready.

Here are some of the closeup pictures of the layout to show the detailing.

Thankyou for stopping by. Will be back with another exciting project soon.

Thanks.

Nandhini Vasandan
