Mixed Media Decor – Miracles Happen

 MIRACLES HAPPEN

Hello & Namaste ,

Bela Shah here today with you!

I altered a wooden slice with loads of Little Birdie craft supplies  to bring my imagination to life and I am eager to share it with you.

I had this project in my mind for a long time and I thought because its on a natural base I would like to make it rustic. So I kept the colour scheme as natural as possible. To give it that natural look, I also used lot of things that came straight from nature

I feel nature is the biggest Miracle…How trees grow, birds fly, how colorful are the butterflies, the wind, the rain, the sunlight, isn’t everything like magic? Let’s be thankful and start making something to represent this wonderful miracle we enjoy everyday!

Step 1:-

Take any wooden slice of your choice. I have taken an elongated one.

Give a coat of clear gesso to prime the surface so you can can work on it conveniently. Let it dry completely.

Step 2:-

Once the clear gesso is dry, create textures with stencils using Little Birdie Grainy Texture Paste and let it dry .

Step 3:- Add colors close to nature using Color Splash…

I have used Lime Green, Mocha, and yellow for the effect.

Step 4:-
I chose my focal point from Little Birdie ‘Birds and Berries’ paper pack and cut out this image of the bird from the element sheet.
I also fussy cut the element sheet so that I could add them as embellishments.
I did not want to use any paper flowers in this project, so I thought these are a better option to give a cheerful, floral look.
I also used natural twigs and some dried flowers to complete my project.
Mixed Media is all about ‘Layers’ so I kept on building the layers with and around the focal point with twigs, fussy cut embellishments, craft pellets – mini and macro, dries flowers, and stuck everything with heavy gel medium .
Once everything was stuck properly and dried, I dry brushed it all with white gesso for creating the highlights and bringing out the beautiful textures.
My beautiful home decor piece with elements of nature and beautiful a quote ‘MIRACLES HAPPEN’ is ready .
Posing few close ups ….
