Mixed Media Buddha panel

Hello Crafty Friends!

Tanvi here with you today.

I am having a lot of fun using the new Filament Decoupage Papers & hoping you are inspired by the DT creations with them. Available in 21 designs, these stretchy 60gsm papers are a boon to decoupage lovers. Today I am sharing a mixed media panel in which I chose to use the beautiful Buddha print.
Here is a brief pictorial of the process –Tear off the edges of the entire paper & decoupage on the MDF panel with Deco Magic glue. The filament papers are made from the finest quality translucent fibres & there is need no preparation before glueing.

2.. For the halo I used a large 14″x14″ Glamour Bloom stencil & mixed media paste. mixed media paste

3.. Next, I created the background with chalk paints – Deep Sea Blue, Lime Mint & Kiwi Mojito.

4. Added some more textures & patterns in the background with Mandala Duo & Palm Flourish stencils.
Used tinted metallic paint – Lime Crush, Twilight Blue & Caribbean Teal.

5. To highlight the halo texture, I first dry brushed with the same metallic paints & Rich Gold metallic wax paste.

6. To complete the project I also splattered paint in the background & finally dried brushed with tinted metallic paint – Golden Glaze.

I am loving the final look of the mixed media panel & the perfect coordination between the colours in the filament paper, the chalk paints and the tinted metallic paints. Would love to hear from you!
