Decoupage Distressed Decorative Frame

Hello Crafty Friends!

This is Tanvi here with a divine festive project today.  I created it with the Goddess Durga – decoupage filament paper and altered a carved wooden frame that I had earlier painted yellow.

To begin, I first decoupaged the motif on a coaster for which I used Deco Magic  decoupage glue – Matte

Sealed the coaster with Decor varnish

Next, I randomly rubbed a wax candle over the frame. This helps achieve a distressed look.

After this, I painted the entire frame with Little Birdie Salsa Red chalk paint.

The frame is now ready for distressing. Sand the areas where it would naturally wear and tear over time (edges, corners, etc.)

Dry brushing with tinted metallic paints (Golden Glaze & Poppy Red) enhanced the carving & vibrant colour.

Glue the decoupaged coaster to the frame. Silicone glue is perfect for this.

The final result is a distressed yet a vibrant frame. The colours & motif scream festivities, so apt for the upcoming season!

Hope you are inspired to participate in our current challenge, all the details are here. Thanks a lot for visiting !

Happy Crafting!
