Beautiful Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Everyone, Priya Mishra here today with a beautiful Mixed Media canvas tutorial for you. I have a step by step photo as well as video tutorial for you so let’s begin…

Here is the Video Tutorial

And the step by step tutorial is here.

Step 1: Take a canvas and cover it with white Gesso. Gesso acts as a primer and prepares the base for any mixed media project.

Step 2: Apply a thick coat of crackle paste. Remember to apply a thick coat if you want bigger cracks and try applying with a light hand and in one stroke. If you go again and again cracks won’t appear perfectly. Also always try to dry it naturally rather than using a heat tool.

Step 3: Take a stencil of your choice and create some texture with help of Little Birdie Grainy texture paste.

Step 4: Cover the whole surface with Little Birdie Black gesso or black archival multi surface paint. Adhere cogs and gears chipboard on it and cover with black gesso.

Step 5: Now take a photo of your choice and create a thick base for it by using Little Birdie Deco Magic glue and a thick cardboard. Stick the photo on the cardboard piece and cut it as per your frame.

Step 6: Take all chipboards of your choice and cover them with black gesso. Now arrange the chipboards as you like around your photo. Also stick two flowers. Stick all the elements and chipboards using Heavy Gel medium which strong and ideal for sticking metal, wood etc.

Step 7: After everything is glued and dried, colour the whole canvas with Little Birdie Metallic Waxes. Now your final piece is ready. Decorate with some metal beads and Rhinestones.
